Tourism in the Shenandoah Valley Continues to Grow

Press Release - SVTA Announces Industry Growth
10 Sept 2018

SHENANDOAH VALLEY — The Shenandoah Valley Travel Association (SVTA) is pleased to announce that the Shenandoah Valley’s travel, tourism, and hospitality industry continues to grow. Recently released data from the U.S. Travel Association shows that every locality in the Shenandoah Valley, and every locality in Virginia, saw an increase in travel expenditures as compared to the previous year.

The June 14th SVTA Member Summer Meeting was held at Capon
Springs & Resort in West Virginia.  It was a beautiful day and
everyone enjoyed the hospitality of Jonathan Bellingham and his
staff.  The fresh home-made, locally sourced food was delicious!

Tourism, Emily Hatfield/West Virginia Tourism and PR-Marketing
updates provided by Kathy Moore/Moore Public Relations.

Julie Armel/Museum of the Shenandoah Valley and John
Shaffer/Luray Caverns  talked about how to capture e-mail
addresses of visitors and best practices of establishing
 communications with them.

Steve Everidge/Shenandoah Tours had everyone break out into
groups based on their region with the challenge  to create 3 Day /
2 Night suggested itineraries.  He gave 15 minutes to brainstorm.
There were some creative ideas and themes which we'll be
incorporating on the VisitShenandoah and VisitSkylineDrive
 websites soon!
